Goodbye to Edwards AFB and the coyotes. We left at 9:00 am- on time for once.
We headed east on Hwy 58. Apparently there are a lot of mules around here cause I saw a sign that said
"20 mule team road" and there was a Borax plant on it. I don't really know what Borax is but Mom has been talking about it so it must be old stuff.
I also saw lots of sagebrush and what Dad calls :Joshua trees".
We then went South on Hwy 395 and finally got to I 10. We are again heading East. We will be on this road for a long time.
We went 278 miles today and Dad was getting 13 mpg which is pretty good cause he paid$3.99 a gallon for diesel.
Just a little observation about Dad's new friend "Jennifer".
She must be a blond cause Mom asked her to find Starbucks again and she made Dad go in a big circle and we never did find it. Maybe she doesn't understand that Starbucks means "happy face" for Mom and making Dad drive in circles at $3.99 a gallon means a "grumpy face" for him.
We are staying in Blythe, Ca. now. It is on the Colorado River. Lots of RLB's here.
They are packed in like sardines. OH that makes me hungry.
Gotta go
