Day 19

Today is St Patricks Day and we went to the French Quarter. I have never seen so many Irish people. Everyone was wearing green. Apparently we are Irish too. I must be black Irish.
To get to the Quarter we took a streetcar ( no it wasn't named Desire). All along the streetcar route were trees that grew beads. I'm not kidding they were everywhere.
The French Quarter was great. People playing music and dancing on the streets. One or two of them may have had a few too many green beers.  The food was great too. We ate crawfish ( Dad sucked the heads, yuck) and oysters ( raw and grilled) and even managed to throw in a lobster. And of course there was Irish
beer. Dad bought some beads to wear ( hey it's New Orleans) and Mom bought a mask (don't ask).
We heard Brad Pitt was down there somewhere but we didn't see him. Mom was afraid Dad would be mistaken for him so we decided to call it a day.
Tomorrow we have a long day of driving ahead of us. Going all the way to Panama City Beach, Fl.
Gotta get ready for the beach.

  1. Hi Weezie,
Glad to hear you all made it thru Texas. There are a lot of rattlesnakes, poisonous plants and Bushes in Texas. Also, I heard there are many used to be in CA. jobs. Sounds like the seafood is still good in Louisiana. I hope your chauffeurs brought you a lobster tail or at least a crawfish after they went to dinner. You are getting closer to the best destination on your trip.
    Chow,
