We drove about 150 miles today. We passed a small town just south of Maryville, Tn that had just recently been hit by a tornado. Dad was getting 12.4 mpg and gas prices are staying steady at $3.79. Just in case some of you were missing that info.
We arrived in Newport around 2:00, got set up and then headed to Parrottsville, Tn to visit another Coast Guard buddy, only this one was Mom's buddy. Heather and John were in Astoria with us. We went up to Heather's house in Parrottsville. She lives on top of a mountain in a real log house. The drive up there was kind of hairy. Dad had to use 4 wheel drive but the view at the top was awesome. You can see the Great Smokey Mountains from there, well we could have seen them if it hadn't been raining. We did see the fog over the Great Smokey Mountains.
They have about 55 acres and they really need it cause Heather rescues ducks. She has 13 ducks so far.
One of the ducks is named Buckwheat and he was my favorite.
She also has two dogs and two cats.
Well gotta get to bed cause tomorrow is Dollywood. Oh yeh.
