Day 34

We got on the road around 10:00 am this morning. We are finally westward bound.  I can practically smell the Pacific ocean.
It should take us a few days to get through Tennessee. This is one long state. Today we drove 227 miles and it took us about 5 hours. The good news is we found one of those hours that we lost just like Mom said.
Dad was getting about 12.4 mpg and gas prices are staying steady.
Tennessee is one of the prettiest states to drive through. Lots of verdant, pastoral and bucolic fields.
We are staying at Arnold AFB in Tullahoma, Tn. Nice place, it even has a lake. Not very many people here.
Maybe Mom will take me out for a walkabout in the morning.
Dad is feeling a little punkish right now. I think Dollywood kicked his butt. Some of those rides were a little rough on the body. He may be too old for all that fun.
Tomorrow we are going to check out Dad's property in Lynchburg, Tn.
