Day 41

We are back on I 10 but this time heading west. Somehow I never thought I would be on this road again.
But here we are.
We left Sunny Acres RV Park ( I'm not kidding that was really the name) at 9:00 am. Dad wanted to get on the road before the wind started up. Guess we should have got underway a lot earlier cause the wind found us (or we found it) .  We drove 270 miles today Dad got 10.2 mpg. He was happy. It's amazing how one bad day can make the other days good even if they really aren't.
We went by Deming, NM where they had a City of Rocks. Where is Aunt Sue and Uncle Gordon when I need them.
Arizona is Cochise Country. Cochise was an Apache Chief who lived here way back in 1860.
We missed all the dust storms and arrived at Agave Gulch (where do they come up with these names) FamCamp at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ at 1:30 pm. That was due in part to finding another one of those lost hours. Nice park but once again we are packed in.  We probably have the smallest RLB here.
They have some pretty cool planes here. C130's, B52 Bombers and some F something fighter planes.
Mom was pretty excited about seeing some fly boys but so far we've only seen old people like them.
Tomorrow we are heading up to Phoenix and from there we will decide if we will go to the Grand Canyon or head on up to Las Vegas.
Another day another adventure

Arizona Mountain

  1. Hi Weezie,
I was looking over my master’s shoulder at his computer. He had the weather radar on and it seems like these green and blue blobs were chasing you all over the southwest. Hopefully you are dodging all that stuff. Try to find some of those blue skies like we have been seeing in the blog pictures. I think I picked up your scent but I guess we won’t have a paw to paw meeting till next time. Anyway welcome back to the West.
    Chow,
