Day 12 / NW Trip

This morning we woke up to sunshine. Of course it would be sunny because today we are leaving the Masonic rain forest and heading over to Sequim, Wa.
We said goodye to Jim (the real life Mason), Janet and the kids. They packed up and hightailed it out of there, probably trying to get out before the rain came back. Mom and Dad were moving a little slower and we didn't leave till noon. Happily the sun was still shinning as we drive off.
We drove to Edmonds, Wa and took the ferry over to Kingston, Wa. . This was our first ferry ride with the RLB (now officially a FLB) and I was a little nervous. No problems though, in fact there were a lot bigger FLBs on there than ours. Sure was a nice day for a float across the Sound.
When we got off the ferry in Kingston and became a RLB again (am I confusing anyone here?) we drove to Sequim (that is pronounced Skwim). Sequim is located between the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan De Fuca. It is nicknamed Sunny Sequim because they get an average of 300 days of sunshine. It is also suppose to be in the Washington "banana belt" but I haven't seen a single banana.
They have a lot of lavender farms here and tomorrow we are going to drive around and look at some and also go to the u-pick berry farms. This is when being a cat comes in handy. No thumbs No picking!
While we are here the folks want to look at property to see if this is some place we might want to set up housekeeping in a SLB.
