Day Eleven / Spring Trip 2012

We got up bright and early today and took the light rail into downtown Denver. The light rail was really fun. Kind of like a subway but not underground and no graffiti.
I never realized that Denver was such an artistic town. They have art everywhere.
It is also home to the Denver mint. Mom was hoping to make a withdrawal but we weren't able to take the tour, maybe they had heard something. We then walked (and walked and walked) around Denver.
We saw the home of the Unsinkable Molly Brown, since this is the 100th anniversary of the sinking of  the Titanic it seemed appropriate. We also went to the capital building. The buildings in Denver look really old but are so beautiful. It was a great day for walking, the sun was shining and it was in the 70's. I almost got a sunburn.

After all the walking it was time to head to Coors Field, Home of the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies were playing the San Diego Padres.  Unfortunately for Dad the Padres lost 5 to 3. However what a ballpark. One of my favorites. After the game we took the light rail back. We  didn't get back to the RLB until almost midnight,
Tomorrow it's Pikes Peak or Bust.
