Weezieanna here. You know the Tennganeese Booney Cat that travels around the country in the Rolling Litter Box (aka the RLB) with those people I live with.
I was pretty sure something was up when I saw the RLB parked in the driveway a few days ago. This morning Mom was up at 06:00 and then I knew for sure, cause she hasn't been up that early since our last trip. So after they dragged me out from under the bed and threw me in the truck we headed east.
We got underway at 08:00. Diesel prices were $4.40 a gallon when we left home and so far I haven't seen anything cheaper. I'll keep my paws crossed that prices go down or it might affect my catnip availability.
Once we got out of the Astoria Rain Forest and headed east on I-84 the trees started thinning out until eventually there weren't any at all. Not alot of greenery east of The Dalles. I guess this is desert country. We could see Mt St Helens and Mt Hood off in the distance. They were both covered with snow. We passed the Bonneville, The Dalles and the John Day Dams. Dad (once again) pointed out every buoy on the river.
We drove about 300 miles and arrived here in Pendleton, OR around 14:30 (that's 2:30 pm for you landlubbers). We are staying at the Wild Horse Casino RV Park. I think the folks are going to go to the casino tonight and try to win enough money to pay for this trip. Dreamers! I just hope they don't lose my cat food money.

Good to have you back on line. It looks like you had a good trip with all of the blue sky that I see in the pictures. I hope your folks did not lose the farm at the casino last night.
ReplyDeleteAll is well in Astoria - no rain, just sunshine & blue sky
