Day 46 / Spring Road Trip 2012

Navy Pier
We are getting pretty good at this train stuff. Of course Dad is the Master Navigator ( his words not mine). We took the Metra to the outskirts of Chicago and then took the CTA light rail into downtown Chicago.
We walked to the Navy Pier, which is right on Lake Michigan, and had lunch. Great view of the city
from there and it was a beautiful day.

We then took the CTA to US Cellular Field, which is home to the White Sox. It is located in South Chicago.
The game didn't start until 1900 but of course we got there at 1630. We really didn't need to get there that early because there wasn't that much to see. I've gotta say it was kind of a boring park. The inside of the park was nice enough but nothing special. Maybe I'm just spoiled with all the great parks we've been to lately. Mom didn't even buy a jersey so thats gotta tell you something. In fact she wore her Mudhens jersey to the game and I can tell you for a fact she was the only one there wearing that.
It was almost midnight by the time we got back to the Naval Base and it took us three trains to get there. Tomorrow is a down day and I can really use the rest.
