Day 25 thru 27 / Spring Road Trip 2012

I know it's been more than a couple of days but I'm baaack.
Got to Tennga on Monday afternoon and can you believe it Mom and Aunt Sue went shopping on Tuesday. What a shocker! Dad got to wash the RLB and do maintenance while they shopped.
Wednesday was spent around the homestead. Guess they were tired from all that shopping.
The weather has been in the 90's since we have been here and we even had a huge thunderstorm.
By Thursday we were all rested and headed out for some excitement.
What is it about these people and rocks? Last year they took us to a rock museum and this year we went to ROCK CITY.
Rock City is up on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga. It has two hundred year old rock formations (geez, that's older than Mom) and hundreds of native plants. They opened it up for people and cats in 1932 so this is their 80th anniversary.
We have been seeing barn roofs painted with SEE ROCK CITY on them for years. Now we know why?  I guess advertising does pay,
We walked along rock trails, made it thru Fat Mans Squeeze (barely) and at the top we had a view of seven states. Pretty awesome.  They even had a gnome garden and a fairy tale land.

Dad paid a man to let him climb a real big rock with a bell on top. If he could make it to the top and ring the bell he could climb it again for free. Well, eventually he made it to the top, rang the bell and managed to get back down (although not very gracefully) but for some reason didn't want to go back up even for free.  Mom tried to video it but was laughing so hard it came out sideways so don't go looking for it on youtube.

Good Fried Chicken

After we all had our fill of rocks we went to get our fill of chicken. Aunt Sue took us to Champys "the best fried chicken in Chattanooga". Not much of a place to look at but the chicken was pretty darn good.
