Day 16

Oh My, I think maybe we are back in Oregon, Toto. We drove from San Antonio to Pearland, Texas (that's right outside of Houston) and it rained the whole way here. It got so bad at one point Dad pulled off the freeway till it let up. But when we got to Pearland it stopped and we were able to get set up in record time. It didn't hurt that this RLB park is really nice and level. We were  even escorted to our site and the man offered to help  get us set up. Of course that was not an option so Mom got her job back. Today we drove 185 miles and Dad got 12.5 mpg. Must have had that tail wind again.
The best part about Pearland is that Dad and Mom have old friends here (not old like Mom) but long  time friends from when they were in Guam.  It has been 22 years since they have all been together. thier names are Bill and Theresa ( they call her T). I had never met them cause I am only 11 but they knew my brother Murphy. T is not a cat person but I think she really liked me. I mean what's not to like!!!!
Apparently Dad and Bill were in the war together because they told "war stories" all night. Didn't sound like much of a war though cause there was a lot of laughing.
We went back to thier house and then we went out for dinner. Real Texas Bar BQ. Boy was it good.
After dinner they were still talking about when they were in Guam. That must have been some place.
The folks didn't get to bed until 11:30.
Tomorrow will be a long day for them.
