Day 44

We got underway around 10:30 this morning, Headed north on Hwt 17. It didn't take long before we were at 3500 feet elevation. The vegetation really changed on our way to Williams. We went from dry desert to grasslands and then chaparral and rocks and then green pines. And around 5000 feet we started seeing snow. Luckily it was only on the side of the roads so the drive went well. At least I think it did. All this driving makes me catatonic.
We are staying at the Canyon RV park in Williams, AZ. Not very many people here right now. Guess it is too early in the season. Snow on the ground but the sun is shinning.
The town of Williams is pretty old. It is the last town on Route 66 to be bypassed.by the interstate. It still looks like it did when Route  66 went through it.
We went into the Canyon Saloon where Mom beat Dad at shuffleboard. Man he can't ever catch a break.
Tomorrow we are going to the Grand Canyon.  I can hardly wait to see what all the hub bub is about.
