Day Three NW Trip

We hightailed it out of the Oasis around this morning. Took a few of the bugs with us I might add. This wasn’t one of my more favorite places.  Not awful but not a five star either.
Our first stop was in Ontario. That’s in Oregon not Canada. We went to a Wally World.
That sounds like an amusement park but it wasn’t very amusing. Dad got diesel and paid $4.23 a gallon.
Then we crossed the Snake River and we were in Idaho. Lots of fields here but I didn’t see a single potatoe.  We took Hwy 52 thru the Payette River Valley and saw lots of cattle, sheep ( even some bighorn sheep)   goats and horses. We followed the Payette River until we got to Horseshoe Bend then got on Hwy 55  and then Hwy 24 to Garden Valley. We drove about 110 miles in total. It’s really pretty country here. The Payette River was pretty cool. Actually probably pretty cold.  The water was really running fast. I wanted to go white water rafting but the folks said no.  Chickens. Lots of rafting and kayaking here. Maybe next time.
Finally we met up with Klaus and Char. They are friends of the folks from way back in North Carolina. They were even there when Mom and Dad got married.  So now I know who to blame.
They live up on a hill and Dad was able to get the RLB up there without too many swear words.
They have been talking non stop since we got here but they have about 26 years to catch up on so I guess it’s to be expected.
All this talking is making me tired so I think I’ll just go to sleep.
G’night
