Day Four / Spring Trip 2012

We left Mountain Home AFB around 0830 this morning. Staying on an Air
Force base has its pros and cons. On the pro side would be the cost and the security, on the con side would be the planes flying overhead. The sound of freedom is certainly noisey.
Dad decided to head for Utah a day early as there really wasn't much going on in Mountain Home and the weather later in the week could become an issue. Not instilling a lot of confidence here.
I-84 through Idaho is kind of barren. Lots of open spaces and cows. Also a lot of mountains.
Once we got to Utah it didn't get a lot better. Although we did catch a glimpse of the Great Salt Lake.
We are staying at Hill AFB in Ogden, Utah. You would think they would be wise to the noise thing by now wouldn't you?
The weather here is nice though. Today it was about 75 degrees with a nice breeze. I think the best part of the day for Dad was when he got fuel on the base and only had to pay $4.09 a gallon. He was practically giddy. I'm not sure that giddy and Dad should be used in the same sentence but you get the idea, he was a happy camper.
We are going to anchor here for another day before heading east. Hopefully the weather will stay nice,
