Day Fourteen / Spring Trip 2012

"Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore"
We got underway at 10:00 this morning and headed for Nebraska.
Yea, I know it's a little out of our way but we  had to come here cause the folks have something
called a "bucket list" and visiting all 50 states is on it. Now that we are in Nebraska, Dad only
needs one more state (N. Dakota) and Mom needs three (Michigan, Ohio and N. Dakota). So no matter the cost in fuel or the time spent in this RLB it's "Damn the Torpedoes. Full Speed Ahead".
As for me I have now only been to 21 states, but I have a map on the RLB to track mine and don't have to keep it in a bucket.
Nebraska, the Cornhusker State looks a lot like Kansas. Lots of open fields, some green some
brown.  This is however the Heartland of America. In fact we were only four miles from the geographical center of the 48 contiguous United States when we drove by Lebanon, Kansas.
We are staying at the Chautauqua Park in Beatrice, NE. According to someone we met who speaks fluent Nebraskanese it is pronounced Bee-aw-triss. Whatever!
I think I really like Nebraska. What I have seen so far is real pretty. I am however not moving here.
