Day Six / Spring Trip 2012

When we departed Hill AFB at 0930 it was raining. Kind of made me homesick.
We said goodbye to the Wasatch Mountains and headed east on I-84 looking for Wyoming.

The Wasatch Mountains
The weather turned a little better at least for awhile.
It didn't take us long to find I-80 and then it was a straight shot to Wyoming.
Wyoming  is "The Cowboy State".    Beef Country.
Not a lot else going on here.  Just a long long road. We did cross  the Green River.  For those of you
who are fans of Creedence Clearwater Revival they wrote a song about it. It runs throught the Flaming Gorge National Rec Area.
We drove through rain and rain/snow mix but we made it.
Dad was getting 12.8 mpg and with fuel prices down to $4.09 he was positively giddy ... again.
It took us five and a half hours but we finally arrived in Rawlins, Wyoming. Back in the olden days this was a pretty wild town . A favorite hangout for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
However the best part of the day was when we got to put sticker # 18 on the RLB.
Wyoming #18
It's the small things in life.
