Day Sixteen / Spring Trip 2012

Theatre downtown KC

A Park in KC

"I'm going to Kansas City, Kansas City here I come."
Today we went to watch the Kansas City Royals play the Toronto Blue Jays. So far we are 0 for 2 on teams we are rooting for winning. The Royals lost 5-3.  Now that I think of it the Padres lost by the same score when we were in Denver. Seems to be a trend here.
The Royals play at Kauffman Stadium. It is right next to Arrowhead Stadium where the Kansas City Chiefs play. They are both pretty neat looking.  We had great seats, only five rows up from the visitor dugout. Mom even caught a foul ball. She had to take out two kids and an old lady but she got it. Heck they weren't bleeding that much. The weather could have been a little better. It was windy and a little cold. But it was baseball so who cares.
We had some great bar-b-que at the park. We had something called Burnt Ends.  I was pretty sceptical about something called burnt but it was delicious.
After the game we drove into the city. Kansas City is known as the City of Fountains cause they have a lot of them. We then went a got some more bar-b-que and headed back to the RLB. All this eating wears me out.
