Day 35 / Spring Road Trip 2012

Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton must have heard I was here because she is going to be in Pigeon Forge today (which is right next door to Sevierville). She is even having a parade for me but sadly she will be disappointed because Dad says we have to get going. Mom and I are not happy about that.
Dad however got fuel for $3.52 a gallon so at least one of us is smiling.
Today we headed to Lexington, Kentucky. To get there we drove over the Cumberland Mountains and through the Daniel Boone Forest.
Green pastures of Kentucky

As I mentioned earlier Kentucky is the Bluegrass State and yet I still haven't see any blue grass. The Lexington area is horse country. Beautiful green (not blue) pastures everywhere with horses grazing.
We stayed at The Kentucky Horse Park. No horses at the campground but plenty of them on the parkgrounds.
This is also where Man O' War is buried.
Man O' War aka Big Red was foaled (that's horse talk for born) in 1917 and died in 1947. He was the greatest race horse and leading money winner of his day. He also sired (more horse talk for ...well you know) War Admiral, who was a Triple Crown winner.
There was also a statue for Secretariat, who was the Triple Crown Winner in 1973.
I really wanted to have a cool name like these guys so now Dad and Mom call me Litter Foot. Not sure what they could be referring to.
